Bridgewater Primary School students perform 'Anzac Biscuits', a picture book by Phil Cummings.

BRIDGEWATER PRIMARY SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT
As part of their studies students have been:
•    learning about the important role memorials play in society
•    enquiring about the impact that the ANZAC legend has on Australia
•    visiting local war memorials to observe, measure and draw
•    designing their own memorials, making links between their design and the feelings, attitudes and messages that they are wanting to  portray
•    publishing poetry relating to the impact of war
•    producing artworks depicting life before, during and after war
•    working together in research teams and planning committees to learn more about the ANZACs, World War 1 and the design of Bridgewater’s new memorial
•    working with an architect to bring their memorial plan ideas to life
•    planning fundraising events
•    working together to apply for a grant, which included holding open events for families and community members
•    researching what conditions were like in WW1 and life back home in Australia
•    sharing their learning with others including the school, local community, RSLs and council
•    corresponding with Sutton Veny School in England which included making and sending Anzac biscuits to the students and staff
•    becoming caretakers of the local World War 2 memorial
•    researching WW1 servicemen from Bridgewater
•    learning about the significant role Aboriginal Anzacs played in the war effort considering the hardships they were enduring back home
•    creating and preforming a play based on the Anzac Biscuits story written by Phil Cummings
•    documenting the build of the new memorial
